Baby Bump Series: Week 10

Another week, and yet, nothing too interesting to report.

I am excited though, that I've finally gotten some energy back! I never thought I would be so happy to be able to have the energy to clean the house and do laundry, but I am :-)

This past week, I have also noticed a small weakness for candy. I haven't really been in the mood for many sweets, but over the past few days, Skittles have been my drug of choice.

Per my SIL Brianne's request, here is a full body shot :-) Don't mind the, "I just got home and had to change into my 'baby bump attire'" crazy hair.

Brasky, also had a good week. He finally got to go to one of his newly found favorite places, Fuzzy Butts doggie daycare. We only take him once a month to let him have a day just for doggies and get some energy out. I drop him off on my way to work and pick him up on my way home (although I forgot to pick him up today until I was almost home...BAD MOMMY!).

When I picked him up, I was told he would sleep like a baby tonight...because they had a total of 35 dogs today. Go Brasky! My little social butterfly.

Baby Bump Series: Week 8 & 9

Last Wednesday, was our second appointment at the OB office. We met with the same nurse practitioner as the first appointment. It felt like a mini-social get-together.

"Hi, how are you feeling?"....."good good."
"You're making great progress, do you have any questions?"......"no not yet; it's still sinking in."
"We'll see you back in four weeks, keep up the good work."

Of course there was a little more than that at the appointment. Nick and I were asked if we wanted her to try and find the heart beat. Obviously our answer was, "YES."

She cautioned us, "Now don't be disappointed if we don't hear anything, because you are still very early."

She left the room and came back with the fetal Doppler. When I first saw it, I immediately was reminded of the fisher price recorder my sister and I used to play with as kids. I laughed inside.

Notice the similarities :-)

With in seconds, the Doppler picked up a very distinct heart beat. It calculated the rate at 174. It was so neat to hear, but...In the words of myself when I lost my first tooth..."I feel like I'm dreaming."

An Evening Out

This past Saturday, Nick and I joined Danielle and Todd for dinner in center city. We ate at Bucca di Beppo. The food was delicious; especially the huge brownie sundae dessert :-)

It was a nice get-a-way from the house; a reason to get out of the pj's and into some normal day clothes.

Afterwards, we made a quick stop at the Comcast building and watched the huge wall sized flat screen, then took a stroll through LOVE park, before hopping back on the train to come home.

Baby Bump Series: Week 7

If I could summarize the past week or so in two words, it would be: Pure Exhaustion.

I don't think I've ever slept so much; not even in college. Taking a shower, requires a nap. Going downstairs and unloading the dishwasher, requires a nap; etc. I feel ridiculous.

Needless to say, I think I'm on the other side that mountain. I guess I shouldn't complain, when exhaustion, some minor food aversions, bloating and constipation have been my only symptoms.

So here is my Week 7 picture. A few days late in posting, but the picture was taken on time :-)
I have to add....It was Nick who reminded me on Wednesday that it was time for the "baby bump picture." He has been a reliable photographer.
